Jelly Cookies - Nora Miller

1 lb butter                                             
1 cup powdered sugar
5 cups flour, sifted                              
2 egg yolks
2 tbsp Half & Half                             
pinch salt
juice of ½ lemon                                 
lemon rind, grated
elderberry jelly

Mix butter, powdered sugar, flour, egg yolks, half & half, salt and juice of lemon plus grated rind of lemon.  Knead until smooth.  Wrap in waxed paper.  Let stand overnight in refrigerator.  Roll out thin and cut.  Bake at 350º.  Don't grease tin.  After cool put jelly between two (cut out center of one with thimble).
