2 cups sugar
¾ cup shortening2 eggs
3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cream of tartar
½ tsp salt
2 cups buttermilk
cinnamon
¼ cup butter & ¼ cup brown sugar blended
¼ cup butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1¼ cup coconut
6 tbsp cream
Cream
sugar and shortening. Add eggs and then flour, baking powder, cream of tartar
and salt. Mix in buttermilk. Pour half of the batter into a greased 9x13
pan. Sprinkle generously with
cinnamon. Add remaining batter. Dot the top with brown sugar and butter. Bake 30 minutes at 350º. Mix melted butter, brown sugar, coconut and cream.
Spread over the cake when cool.
Put under broiler for few minutes to allow topping to become golden.
