Clam Chowder - Michael Fletcher

1 qt clams, chopped with juice        
1 lb bacon
2 medium onions, diced                    
3 cups raw potatoes, diced
½ tsp salt                                              
¼ tsp pepper
2 cups boiling water                           
1 quart milk
2 tbsp butter                                        
1 pint light cream

Cook bacon till crisp.  Add onions and cook for 5 minutes.  Mix in potatoes, seasonings, and water.  Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.  Add clams and their juice, milk, butter and cream.  Simmer 15 minutes and serve.
