Kolachky - Nancy Fletcher

(This is a traditional polish holiday cookie.  We usually have it every Christmas, our kids love helping making, and of course eating, these)

1 lb butter
1-8oz pkg cream cheese
4 cups flour
pinch of salt
apricot jelly or preserves
powdered sugar

Mix butter and cream cheese.  Work in flour and salt.  Chill dough at least 4 hours.  Roll out dough very thin and cut into small 2 inch rounds (We used to use a shot glass!).  Place on baking sheet and place a small dab of jam in the center of each disc.  If you put too much jam it will be a sticky mess on your baking sheet!  Bake at 400º for 10 minutes.  Sprinkle when cool with powdered sugar.
