Mom’s 24 hour layered Salad - Barbara Seng

1 head of lettuce                                 
½ cup green pepper, chopped
½ cup chopped celery                        
½ cup chopped green onion
1-10oz pkg frozen peas, thawed under hot water
1 pint mayonnaise                             
2 tbsp sugar                                         
½ lb cheddar cheese, shredded        
bacon bits

Tear lettuce into bite sized pieces and put into the bottom of a sealable Tupperware bowl.  Layer in order on top of the lettuce 1) green pepper 2) celery 3) green onion and 4) peas.  Mix mayonnaise and sugar together in small bowl and spread on top as next layer.  Then layer with shredded cheddar cheese and finally bacon bits.   Seal the bowl and chill in fridge for 24 hours before serving.
