Oatmeal Macaroons - Ruth Fletcher

2 eggs                                                    
1 cup sugar                                         
1 tsp vanilla                                         
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
2½ cup rolled oats
1 tbsp melted butter

Beat egg yolks and whites separately; cream sugar with shortening, add egg yolks, salt, and rolled oats.  Then baking powder, egg whites and vanilla.  Mix thoroughly.  Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet allowing plenty of room.  Bake about ten minutes at 350 º.
