Chocolate Nut Biscotti - Charlene Fletcher

2 cups flour                                          
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp baking soda                              
½ tsp baking powder
½ cup margarine                                 
1 cup sugar
1 egg                                                      
1 cup M&M’s
¾ cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350º.  In a bowl combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and baking powder; set aside.  In a medium bowl, cream together margarine and sugar; add egg and mix well.  Blend in the flour mixture.  Stir in M&M’s and nuts.  Divide dough in half.  With floured hands, shape each portion into a 2x12 log and place on a greased cookie sheet about 4 inches apart.  Bake 25-30 minutes or until firm.  Remove pan from oven and cool logs for about 30-40 minutes.  Slice each log into 12 pieces and place cut side down on cookie sheet.  Bake for 10 more minutes.  Cool completely on rack before serving.  (from M&M recipe pamphlet)
