Chocolate Pecan Pie - Barbara Seng

3 eggs, beaten                                      
½ tsp salt
¾ cup sugar                                         
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup light Karo syrup                       
¼ cup butter, melted
9 inch unbaked pie crust                   
1½ cup pecans
½ cup chocolate chips       

Beat eggs, salt, sugar, vanilla, Karo syrup and butter together and pour into unbaked pie crust.  Sprinkle half of the pecans into pie and push into egg mixture.  Sprinkle chocolate chips over top and then top with the remaining pecans. Bake at 375º for 40-50 minutes.  (May need to put foil on edges of crust to prevent over browning half way through)
