3-4 lbs corned beef brisket
2-3 medium onions, quartered
1-2 cups water
1 large head green cabbage
Put
all ingredients into crockpot in order listed, cover and set to Low for 10-12
hours (High: 5-6 hours). Add cabbage wedges to liquid, pushing down to moisten
after 6 hours on Low (or 3 hours on high).
Corned
beef and cabbage may also be made in large soup pot on top of
stove. Cover corned beef in water and simmer with onion for 3-4 hours depending on size (see
label). Add carrots and potatoes and cook until done. Serve with rye bread.
