Homemade Caramel Corn - Evelyn Nuffer

(I had never had homemade caramel corn before having this in their home in Boise, Idaho.  I still enjoy making a big bowl full every once in a while – just make sure you have people to help you eat it all!)

2½ cups brown sugar                         
1 cup Karo syrup
½ cup margarine                                 
1 can sweetened condensed milk
freshly popped popcorn                                    

Cook brown sugar, syrup and margarine in a saucepan until at soft ball stage.  Then add milk and bring barely to a boil.  Quickly pour over popcorn and stir to coat all the pieces.  Best served warm…..it usually wont last long enough to get cool!
