1¾ cup flour
1 cup sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
½ cup shortening
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp nutmeg
1 egg
1 tsp allspice
½ cup chopped nuts
2 cup water
Add
water to raisins and boil for 10 minutes. Add shortening and let cool while you sift
sugar, flour, soda, salt and spices. Add
to the cooled raisin mixture, beat well.
Add egg and nuts. Bake 30-40 minutes at 350º.
