Snickerdoodles - Michael Fletcher

1 cup shortening                                 
1½ cups sugar
2 eggs                                                    
2¾ cups flour
2 tsp cream of tartar                          
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt                                                               
cinnamon sugar

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.  Add flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.  Chill the dough overnight.  Roll into balls and roll in the cinnamon sugar.  Flatten slightly while placing on lightly greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 400º for 8-10 minutes.
