Snickerdoodles - Ginny Seng

½ cup butter                                       
½ cup shortening                                
1½ cups sugar                                     
2 eggs                                                    
1 tsp vanilla 
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
2⅔ cups flour     

Beat butter and shortening until light and fluffy.  Add sugar and mix well.  Beat in eggs and vanilla.  Mix dry ingredients.  Add to beaten mixture.  Shape into 1‑2" balls.  Roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture (2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon).  Place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375º for 8‑10 minutes  Do Not overbake!  They will be soft, should be golden and tops slightly split.
