1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp ground cloves
½ tsp salt
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
Cream
shortening, add sugar, and gradually whip in the egg. Mix dry ingredients thoroughly and add
alternately with the applesauce. Drop
spoonfuls onto a buttered cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake until golden brown.
