All Star Pie Crust - Michael Fletcher

(Yes, it’s with lard, but I’ve yet to find anything that makes a better crust!)

6 cups flour                                          
1 tsp salt
1 lb lard (do not substitute)               
½ tsp baking powder
1 egg                                                      
2 tbsp vinegar
water

Mix flour, salt and baking powder.  Cut in lard until forms a meal consistency.  Put vinegar into a 1 cup measuring cup.  Fill the balance of 1 cup with water.  Mix with egg and then blend into flour mixture.  Mix well, form dough into a ball and chill.  Roll out on floured board.  Make two pie shells or one pie top and bottom.  Bake 30 minutes at 350º or until golden brown.
