Chocolate Cherry Cake - Ruth Fletcher

¾ cup shortening                                
3 cups flour
1½ cup sugar                                       
1½ tsp baking soda
2 beaten eggs                                       
½ tsp salt
2 squares chocolate, melted             
maraschino cherries, cup up
1 cup buttermilk                                 
½ cup chopped nuts
½ cup cherry juice

Mix all and bake at 350º for 1 hour.
