Elephant Stew

1 elephant                                            
2 cups salt
24 cups pepper, carrots, celery, onions and potatoes to taste

Cut 1 medium size elephant into ½ inch cubes.  (This will take approximately 72 days).  Add carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, salt and water.  Cook over kerosene fire about 4 weeks at 456º.  If more than 3,800 guests are expected for dinner, two rabbits may be added; but do this only if necessary because most people do not like to find hare in their stew.
