Karo Fudge - Nora Miller

2 squares chocolate                           
½ cup cold milk
2 cups granulated sugar                    
⅓ cup Karo syrup
2 tbsp butter                                        
1 tsp vanilla

Grate chocolate and add cold milk, granulated sugar, Karo Syrup and butter.  Cook slowly, stirring now and then. Cook until it makes a soft ball in cold water (about 5 minutes after boiling). Remove from fire and add vanilla and beat until it begins to granulate.  Pour into buttered pan.  Mark and cut when nearly chilled.
