(Mom made this at a party held at their house for our wedding in 1987. It was a hit back then and I’ve seen many variations at different parties over the years. I still prefer this one.)
1 can refried beans
1 jar salsa
1 cup guacamole 1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
diced tomatoes
1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
thinly sliced green onions
chopped or sliced black olives
tortilla chips
Mix together refried beans and ½ the jar of salsa. Spread onto the bottom of a glass dish. Spread layers of remaining items in the following order on top of bean mixture: Guacamole, sour cream, cheddar cheese, Monterey jack cheese, green onions, tomatoes, olives, and top with remaining salsa. Serve with tortilla chips.
