Pigs in the Blanket - Nora Miller

3 lbs round steak, sliced and then pounded thin, cut into pieces
dime’s worth of fat off pork loin, cut in small strips
onions, sliced                                       
salt and pepper
toothpicks                                            
1 tbsp Crisco
1 cup water                                          
1 tbsp flour
water                                                     
Kitchen Bouquet

Cut steak in pieces to roll.  Salt and pepper.  Place pork fat and onions onto each piece of round steak. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.  Roll up and fasten each with toothpicks.  Put Crisco in heavy covered pan, melt and then add steak rolls.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper, put in water.  Keep adding water as it cooks down.  When well browned, pour off a little of drippings and make gravy with flour, water and Kitchen Bouquet.
