water
1 tbsp salt
pepper
1 cup vinegar
5 slices bacon
1 tbsp lard
1 small onion
3 tbsp flour
1 cup sugar
Pour
boiling water over sliced cabbage and leave stand about 5 minutes, then
drain. Add new boiling water about level
with cabbage, salt and pepper, vinegar. Fry bacon in lard with onion. When browned, drain bacon and onion into
cabbage. Let come to a boil. Take flour and stir into bacon grease, add
juice from cabbage, mix and put back in pot. Add sugar and let cook about ½
hour.
